Daniel is responsible for the Electrify NZ programme at MBIE, which includes electricity networks policy, offshore wind legislation and energy-related resource management work.
Other experience in the energy sector includes responsibility for energy hardship and industrial decarbonisation policy, and the set-up and deployment of energy innovation funds.
Daniel has a background in public policy, environmental law and planning, including stints at the Ministry for the Environment, Department of Internal Affairs, and Te Waihanga. He holds a Masters degree in Planning, and double degrees in Law and Geography, from the University of Otago.
