Vector has appointed Chris Blenkiron as the company’s new group chief executive officer. Chris will be relocating his family to Auckland and starting with Vector in December 2025.
Until recently, Chris was the Chief Executive of Rio Tinto’s Tiwai Point aluminium smelter in Invercargill – New Zealand’s largest energy consumer. Prior to that, he held roles with BlueScope in both New Zealand and Indonesia.
He has a strong commercial background and people focused approach to leading business outcomes and holds a BCom from Otago University. He is passionate about the community, having previously served on the board of Youthtown, an organisation empowering young people across New Zealand.
Chris is married to Aleece and they have one daughter, Esther, along with their dog Bear.
