John Pagani has worked in the energy sector since 2012 and now consults through Pagani Agency, advising on strategy, communications, and energy transition issues. Most recently, John worked with Gas Industry Company on the Gas Transition Plan, renewable gases, and strategic engagement, building on his deep experience in transition planning and stakeholder management.
Previously, he was General Manager Corporate Services at New Zealand Oil & Gas and has supported boards and leadership teams of energy firms and industry associations in New Zealand and Australia.
Before entering the energy sector, John produced some of New Zealand’s most listened-to radio news programmes, worked in Wellington and Paris as a communications and sustainability consultant, and served as chief of staff, senior strategist, and communications director in parliament. He holds degrees in politics from Auckland and law from Victoria, along with executive education from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
