Tim leads the Electricity Authority’s Networks and System Change group. The three policy teams within this group ensure that the regulatory settings are fit for purpose when it comes to:
- connecting to networks and the use of network data
- maintaining the security and resilience of the system through the transition, with increasing amounts of distributed resources and intermittent generation
- improving price signals for the distribution and transmission segments of the electricity supply chain.
This work aims to reduce long‑term system costs for consumers by promoting efficient investment in and operation of energy technology, as well as greater demand‑side flexibility.
Previously, Tim worked in the telecommunications sector at Chorus and Optus, in roles focused on economic regulation
