Waruna is an Investment Director at New Zealand Green Investment Finance (NZGIF), a green investment bank established with the purpose of accelerating investment to enable Aotearoa New Zealand’s low carbon future.
Prior to joining NZGIF, Waruna held senior roles in Investment Banking and Infrastructure Advisory firms, providing lead advisory, transaction diligence and strategic advisory services to major projects in the distributed energy, road, rail, port, social housing, water, and telecommunications sectors.
Waruna has led the origination of opportunities and the development of financing products for NZGIF’s green infrastructure, renewable energy, and electric vehicle portfolios, including establishing NZGIF’s award winning $365 million Solar Finance programme, which has successfully secured private co-investment from Natixis, First Sentier Investors and Societe Generale.
